MY UPDATE IS NOT GOOD

I am too weak to do anything. I need to get to San Antonio to see my brain surgeon.  The valve setting has me completely bedridden. It is as if I never had the surgery.  A sign you have NPH is urine leakage.  I am passing 100-120 ounces of urine a day.  Normal is 50 ounces.

I wear pull ups.  I put a dry one on at bedtime and wake up soaked.  The 30+ rating means the pull up will hold up too 30-35 ounces. 

I am very frustrated because my doctor's NP verified, they are familiar that my model of shunt and year is failing on a regular basis. 

It was a year ago July I learned something was wrong.  TSA in Brownsville asked me if I had any implants.  I said yes and he said in the future we need permission from your doctor to pass you through security. On the return from NY, the same thing. Then in December and also last April the same thing.

The manufacture knows the shunts are failing when I go through security.

The latest is, in terms of courthouse, they are recommending not passing through security, put the wand can be passed up op my armpits.

CT scans are a no, unless your setting can be checked.  This is not an option in South Texas.

I am bedridden

I need to go to Walmart.  Finding someone to drive me is easy.  I cannot get out without an electric wheelchair. 

I have confronted parents over their children driving them around. 

Walmart needs to make sure the person using the electric wheelchair qualifies.  I am grateful for the service, but it is of no value to me if the chairs are not available.

THE PAIN HAS SUBSIDED 

    

On Monday my doctor called me and told me to be in his office first thing Tuesday.  There is a problem with my bladder.  It is my bladder and not caused by the surgery. 

The bladder was spasming from the catheter.   That was the pain.  I did very well, exceptionally well, after the catheter was removed.

I was prepared for leakage, and more bleeding.   I experienced neither. I have no reason to wear pullups. 

There is mild discomfort, but very tolerable.

I can tell you, I am having none, save one of the problems you are told you will have post-surgery for maybe 3 months. The best surgeon in the world cannot avoid the one problem I am having.  Once the surgical swelling goes down in my prostate, everything will be back to normal.

I am on the high-end of functional. I was on the very high-end of functional before the surgery. A key benefit has been to the pelvic floor.  An inflamed prostate can cause problems with the pelvic floor.  With half the prostate gone, I can see real improvement on that issue, and I like it.

 THE REAL PROBLEM IS THE SURGEON NOT PAYING ATTENTION

We need stronger regulation of these in office procedures. There were real problems during the procedure because of a lack of regulation.  The consequence was me suffering needlessly.  When the neurological block on the prostate failed, he was to redo it, or to sedate me.  Doctors strongly disfavor in patient sedation in their offices.  We see this also with sinus surgery.  

As I have said, I strongly disfavor medical malpractice.  But what is happening with the expansion of in office procedures, we have no oversight over the doctor.  There is a lot of money being made with these procedures.

Based on everything I know I think it was 100% successful.  I do not want to discourage use of this product.  But I need to know the manufacture and doctors are going to create meaningful protocols and follow them.

I need my specialist for two reasons.  Based on what he saw he can justify the advanced testing on my bladder. If the excessive scaring is verified, he can address it.  The scaring begins when the bladder cannot properly empty because of the prostate.  The procedure can make the scaring worse.  It is no one's fault.  It is to diagnose it, and do the repair.

There is also a procedure to widen the urethra and the sphincter going into the bladder.  This needs to be done as part of my long term care.

I scream out crying every time I have to pee. I will be doing an online review with REZUM telling people to not do this procedure.

One man claims he went to work the next day.  I do not know how you go to work with a catheter which requires emptying every 90 minutes. He claims the catheter was removed after 3 days and he was fine.

If he is telling the truth, then my experience was an example of extreme failure and malpractice. 

I am waiting on my doctors answering service to get ahold of him.  I cannot continue screaming in horrific pain.  Also, the catheter is clearly pulling out.

 

WHEN YOU HOPE YOUR WATER POLICY WILL JUST HAPPEN

From 76-80 we drove from El Paso many times to jump off the cliffs. This was a magnificent body of water.   But because the universities were not addressing city planning as part of their master's in public administration, water policy has been ignored for decades.  On this issue I give UTEP an "F" for its Master's in Public Administration program.  It was a horrible problem.  They needed at least on masters in the political science program which the state would support, so they took the default program.

Since before Tony Martinez ran, I was calling on a water policy.  Tony having no idea what a water policy is said we could conserve.  Conservation does not work.

IT PISSES ME OFF HOW EASYILY SO MANY PEOPLE WERE TAKEN IN BY THE FALSE NARRATIVE THAT ELON MUSK WAS GOING TO BUILD A DATA CENTER ON THE 444 ACRES ADJACENT TO THE PORT

The real evidence was there.  He needs the area as a staging area for the 30 or so daily rockets he will eventually need to ship to Star Base Louisiana from the manufacturing facility at Star Base Brownsville.

Brownsville did not own the land. For simply giving up zoning control over the land Brownsville got $220 million dollars for water.  What should concern people is Brownsville anticipates missing key deadlines to move the water project forward they built in endless restart options to avoid default.

The good news is, Elon Musk recognizes local social media for what it is, worthless.  But Elon Musk in his arrogance gets an "F" on the PR side. He could have clarified this early on.  But sometimes when dealing in land speculation you must hide your cards.  he has to buy this land from the landowners.  He cannot use his business model to force the owners to sell. 

SOMEONE TELL ME

Would Brownsville have looked better had the city kept the land and then zoned it exactly as Elon Musk want, while taking the $220 million, or was its smarter for the city to give up the zoning rights in exchange for the $220 million water project?

John Cowen is so corrupt he could not see how the city got a really good deal.  He hid from a truth.  He believed the truth would make him look weak.  The truth shows Brownsville got a good deal on the water, and Brownsville and Cameron County got a good deal on economic development.

THE STORY WHICH SOCIAL MEDIA IS IGNORING IS THE IMPACT ALL OF THIS WILL HAVE THE PEOPLE ON FIXED INCOME

As this was happening in Austin fixed income seniors were forced to leave the city.  The additional property taxes and inflation forced them to move 200 plus miles from their doctors and support system. We need to address this problem.  Brownsville has no one on staff who understands city planning.

YESTERDAYS' PROSTATE SURGERY WAS THE MOST PAINFUL SURGICAL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

I remain in intense pain.  Sitting is very painful.  I urinate best when standing.  Gravity and such. But it is very painful.  It could be a week before I can urinate without extreme pain.

The above procedure shows how they insert a needle through the urethra into the prostate.  I was told there would be 4 injections.  He did 6 on each side. Horrific pain is an understatement.

They use an ultrasound through the rectum to get a better picture of the prostate.  Everything changed.  We finally had a good picture of the prostate.  Before the procedure they use a block to control the pain in the prostate.  It did not work, because if it did, without the block I would have passed out from the pain.

They dissolve the prostate with an injection of 100-degree solution injected through the needle.  It is 9 seconds of pure hell x6.  It burns.

The urethra did not help.  Mine is very narrow.  The numbing medicine does nothing for the pain.  In fact, when he was done, the catheter was too big to fit into the urethra.  He ran next door for another form of catheter or a device to help him put the catheter in.

It is my understanding most patients do not experience the pain I experienced.  I do not respond to pain killers.  Morphine for example does nothing for me, as an example.

THE BLADDER BECAME AN ISSUE

He had a hard time getting into the bladder.  This is why in all prostate cases you need an ultrasound through the rectum.  Overtime everyone experiences bladder damage from urine buildup.  But if not corrected in extreme cases, the patient will need a catheter for life.  My bladder has not fully emptied in years.  So, the point is, the ultrasound showed the extent of the enlarged prostate, and the damage to the bladder.

I'm back to bed.  The pain is so bad.

A KEY FACT ABOUT STARBASE AND THE LAW OF EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION

I want to be clear; I have all the same concerns of most people.  A video I saw of a gentleman from the city commission meeting on the issue of pollution really concerned me.

Under the Texas Government Code, the most land Starbase can claim as extraterritorial is a 1/2 mile from its outer limits.  That is not going to include the 444 acres.

Sec. 42.021.  EXTENT OF EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION.  (a)  The extraterritorial jurisdiction of a municipality is the unincorporated area that is contiguous to the corporate boundaries of the municipality and that is located:

By law a municipality cannot use eminent domain to take land for a private concern.

By law Elon Musk is going to have to buy all the land from the actual landowners.  Cameron County will continue to have jurisdiction over zoning and such.

If you want to stop a Data Center, you have to take on the county.  

Who actually believes this County Commission will not put their interests first.  Eddie Trevino and Joey Lopez are gone.  I do not doubt their replacements will vote with Elon Musk.

Once November is over, you watch how Abbott and company will be all about business.

DANIEL CAVASOS OPED ON TOO RAPID OF GROWTH FOR BROWNSVILLE NEEDS TO BE FOUND AND STUDIED

 

I DO NOT SEE THE PROBLEM:  JUST STATIC NONSENSE NOISE FOR THE SAKE OF IT

This land for the most part is owned by private landowners.  If those landowners want to work with Musk for whatever reason, unless it violates zoning laws, it is not my concern.

There is no evidence, zilch, that the land will be developed for a DATA center.  Governor Abbott has made clear, any DATA centers approved will have to provide their own water and electricity.  If it becomes a DATA center under Abbott's rules, it is adjacent to the port and landfill.  These DATA centers are going to happen, so is there a better location in Cameron County?

I do not support any of this.  But we cannot stop it.  But what we can do is be reasonable and compromise.  I have not read a word about how a DATA center would hurt any neighborhood in the area.  Also, the fact of the matter is, other than a paid hack, no one is suggesting the land will be used for a DATA center.

Elon Musk is offering to put on the table $220 million dollars for critical water projects.  We desperately need water.  The state is certainly not going to help us.

It is amazing to me Elon Musk is willing to put $220 million on the table for water in exchange for the COB giving up its extraterritorial jurisdiction over the land.  If the actual landowners want to sell the land to Elon Musk, it is their land. This is a win for Brownsville.

My questioning why people are making such a big deal over this, does not change the fact, I predicted this was going to happen over a year ago.

We cannot change what is happening, but we can try and work with Elon Musk to mitigate the situation. 

 

GINA HINOJOSAS' SILENCE ON WOMEN'S REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS IS DEAFENING

Next up through a public referendum to reinstate Roe v. Wade is red state Idaho.

For me the Dobb's decision reversing Roe v. Wade was not about abortion, but a bigger right, women's sovereignty over their body.  I believe you can oppose abortion while supporting a woman's sovereignty over her body.  A woman is less than equal if the government can control her reproductive system.

Kansas is a solid red state but when put to a public vote, the people voted to preserve Roe v. Wade.  

NEBRASKA HAS A MODERATE RIGHT TO AN ABORTION AFTER A PUBLIC VOTE

The state like so many others cannot ban abortion during the first 12 weeks, while preserving the right to an abortion after 12 weeks in the case of rape, incest, and medical emergency.  The Nebraska law is far from perfect, but it forced the Republican controlled legislature to pull back.

With the Nebraska compromise Texas can have abortions up to 12 weeks along with post 12 weeks for rape, incest and medical emergency. The Nebraska compromise is not perfect, but it is better than an outright ban on abortion.

WHAT RED STATES IDAHO, KANSAS AND NEBRASKA ALL HAVE IN COMMON IS THROUGH A PUBLIC REFERENDUM KEY ABORTIONS RIGHTS WERE RESTORED

Texas Democrats remain dead silent on amending the Texas Constitution to allow for a public vote on all public issues.  A referendum is a key check on radical legislatures such as in Idaho, Kansas, and Nebraska who have faced or about to face a people vote overturning their opposition to abortion.

I will not pretend any of these people will even respond to my questions.  They will not.  So, this becomes a matter for all social media calling each of them out until they are forced to respond. With protection checks already paid to the bloggers this will not happen?

Good leadership means anticipating a problem and addressing it in advance.  

Elon Musk has already said if the city does not walk away from the land he wants, he will use eminent domain to take it from Brownsville.

"The real icing on the cake is the decision to sell out all of the Cameron County residents around SpaceX.  Once Space Port a city of some 70 people is incorporated, Elon Musk will use his money to push for eminent domain around Space Port to force people to sell their land for development of the municipality.  The Elon Musk city will use his money to declare the surrounding area as extraterritorial jurisdiction. It will not be long before the majority of the residents who are now just part of Cameron County, will be part of Space Port, paying taxes to Elon Musk. 

There must be consequences.  Sofia Benavides was front and center on giving Musk everything he wants. Joey Lopez was part of that club along with Eddie Trevino.  Both are now part of the past. It is time Joseph Lucio step up and speak out against Elon Musk. That will certainly not happen.

Concerning claims of a DATA center, Gov. Abbott already said no new data centers unless they build their own electric generating facilities.  This means no use of the BPUB.  You can lie all you want but it does not change facts.  Also, Abbott and Paxton are hurting in the LRGV in polls leading up to the November elections.  Neither is going to come out in defense of data centers.

Daniel Cavasos was the old editor of the Brownsville Herald.  He warned against rapid economic development.  I wish I could find his old OPED piece.  He was so spot on.

This rapid growth may be good for property tax revenues, but it is really bad for the large number of people on fixed incomes, or lower wages in terms of the current economic reality.

If you earn $100,000 a year, I might be able to get you into a very small house.  Taxes and homeowner insurance on a home my size is about $700 a month.  20% down on a $250,000 home is $50,000, plus other closing costs.  The monthly loan amount is about $1650, if you can get a loan at 6%.  This means a monthly payment of $2350.00.  The overwhelming majority of residents are locked out of a mortgage. 

People do not have the money even for rent.  I know of people who a few years ago could have bought a house, who cannot now afford to rent a duplex.

So, ask yourself who exactly is benefiting from all this rapid economic development?  It is not the average person in Cameron County.

When I sell my home, the buyer will need upwards of $3000 a month for the full mortgage payment.  You then add in utilities, cable, and other expenses, you are over $4,000 a month.

While my mortgage payment was locked in 16 years ago, I am fine.  But every year costs go up. People on fixed income who use to be able to afford their home, are struggling to make payments.

ALL OF THIS RAPID ECONOMIC IS BAD FOR CAMERON COUNTY.  BUT WHO IS MAKING ALL THE MONEY.  

 

THE SUBDURAL HYGROMA IS GETTING WORSE AND I AM BEDRIDDEN

All indicators are my ventricle continues to over drain.  My brain surgeon's office is trying to get me in with a cancellation.  I was told if it gets worse to go back to the ER in San Antonio and the on-call brain neurosurgeon will assess the situation.  I am mostly bedridden. The VA wants me to go to the local ER first to get the referral to San Antonio.  I just got the last bill sent to the VA $14,000.  

The VA's claim they have no one locally who can do or read the lateral head shot, or properly read the CT scan is pure BS.

The VA  has an absolute policy of no emergency CT scans at the clinic.  If needed they will put you in an ambulance to cross the street to Valley Baptist.  The head CT scan is at most 2 minutes.  Only the VA can ask the neurosurgeon at the VA in San Antonio to read the CT scan.  But they will not agree to doing it at the VA Harlingen.  They also claim they have no one who can read the lateral head shot.  This is pure BS.  I can read it.  It is like a clock, and you look for a black notch associated with a time.  The online chart which is readily available tells them the setting.  I should be at 150.  I bet I am back down to 70.

My vision is in and out.  I have no control of my bladder. My gait is way off. The vertigo sensation makes it difficult to walk. In the last week I fell three times. 

My brain surgeon needs to have someone locally give him an assessment.  The only option is for the VA Harlingen to do the head CT scan and lateral headshot.  They will not.  I have verified they can ask the neurologist at the VA San Antonio to do the read and then notify my brain surgeon.

When I brought this entire mess to the worthless Congressman Vicente Gonzalez, he blew me off based on the VA lying that I can get care in Brownsville.  I cannot. 

I have since learned the brain shunt I have had been recalled in select patients.  It seems to over drain on its own without an intervening event.

A note, I changed the diagnosis from hematoma to hygroma.  The local radiologist misdiagnosed the problem.  He did nothing wrong.  There are so few patients with the problem it can happen.  But the subdural fluid buildup is obvious to a trained eye.

WE NEED A LOWER RIO GRANDE MEDICAL ADVISORY BOARD TO BRING BETTER CARE TO THE LRGV

Yesterday it came to my attention a local person fell and hit her head.  There was no care available, so she was medivac to MD Anderson in Houston.

Medicine is changing and our needs are changing.  No one hospital can fix the problem.  It has to be a community effort between Hidalgo and Cameron County through an advisory board.

My brain issue scares me more and more each day.  The VA doctor who treats my circadian rhythm disorder was dumbfounded the VA does not have a neurologist in San Antonio handle the read of my brain CT scan and lateral headshot.  She told me the local radiologist is to refer any read she cannot handle to specialists in San Antonio.

I am very happy with the ER help I received from Valley Regional.  The radiologist through no fault of his own could not properly read the CT scan or the lateral head shot.  On the latter it is about reading the setting on the shunt, not if the shunt is in place.  

That number will tell the ER doctor if my shunt is over draining or under draining.  This then gives context to the CT Scan read. We need to be fair.  An ER doctor and local radiologist can go their entire career and never see a patient with my problem. 

Both the radiologist here, and in San Antonio misread part of the CT scan.  Their reads got me the emergency care I needed- so thank you.  It really takes a brain neurologist to understand the subtle difference between a hematoma and a sac filled with brain fluid.  It was in fact the latter.  This is so rare it is impossible for almost any ER doctor or radiologist to get it right.  They need help and we should work together to help them.

The brain fluid sacs were even worse than a hematoma.  Mine were deemed severe requiring an immediate change of the pressure valve from 70 to 150.  That is a big change.  I can tell you based on how I feel, I am still in trouble.  

I have been sleeping 11 hours. It takes an hour to rehydrate me before I can get just a few hours work done.

THE SOLUTION

A medical advisory board can help all local hospitals to associate with specialists in San Antonio and Houston who can help with the advanced reads of MRI's, CT scans and basic x-rays. The need is there and we need a strong community-based Board to help the doctors.

The MAB also needs to work with all ER professionals to learn about rare conditions they are seeing in the ER.  We need PCP to also make such identifications.

With this data in hand the MAB can work with the hospitals to try and recruit specialists who can address these rare conditions. Our population is growing and changing.  

 

 THE SUPREME COURT EMERGENCY DOCKET IS FRONT AND CENTER WITH THE PRESS READING EACH FILING

My FRAP 8 Motion is about to be filed and will be read by the national press core. The issue is simple, are the three orders signed by the Texas Supreme Court while the case was squarely before federal judge Rolando Olvera void.  There is no dispute concerning the documents.  

I intentionally waited until after the end of the term to file my FRAP 8 motion, when there would be very little for the press to see, but with Trump filing FRAP 8 motion after motion.

It will take just one news source taking the story and the Texas Supreme Court will fall. 

"The Supreme Court's emergency docket has flared up in the thick of the justices' summer recess. 

President Trump is urging the justices to revive his mail ballot restrictions and allow White House ballroom construction to resume. It again puts the high court in the hot seat after its string of key rulings on other aspects of Trump's agenda.

And adding to the pileup this past week, a contempt fight from Apple, an execution and even an effort to save a "vicious" dog from euthanasia landed at the justices' feet."

 

GINA HINOJOSA IS CLUELESS ON THE GASOLINE ISSUE, OR WORSE IS SHE BOUGHT BY THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY?:  I DO NOT KNOW WHICH IS THE TRUTH BUT THERE IS A SOLUTION TO THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GINA IS NOT DISCUSSING

I am waiting on my body to rehydrate so I can try and get some legal work done.  The phone has been ringing all morning.  The concern for my safety and welfare is real. I think the key people now understand I have no real care options in the LRGV.

Gina Hinojosa needs to explain why she does not openly campaign with her father, Gilberto Hinojosa.  We all know the answer.  She is no more qualified to be governor than her father was qualified to be the Chair of the Texas Democratic Party.

Gina tried through paid bloggers to convince you she took the lead on Data Centers.  The record was clear.  Before Gina read in the paper they had become an issue, Governor Abbott has already called for additional regulation and a mandate they produce their own electricity.  Documented facts matter. 

HOW IS IT GOVERNOR ABBOTT AND THE LEGISLATURE CANNOT BETTER REGULATE THE COST OF GASOLINE?

Now pay attention, I am putting the blame on Abbott and the Republicans, but why is GINA not calling them out for doing nothing.  She has proposed nothing to address the issue of how Texas and the US can be net exporters of gasoline, and not find a way to cap the price of gasoline.

"The United States is the world’s largest exporter of motor gasoline (finished gasoline plus gasoline blending components), supplying over 16% of total global exports. U.S. motor gasoline exports in 2023 averaged 900,000 barrels per day (b/d), equivalent to about 10% of domestic consumption and enough to fill up the tanks of over 1.5 million SUVs per day,"

 WHAT TO UNDERSTAND

Our gasoline surplus is so large, we export the equivalent of 10% of our consumption.

Texas can control the price of gasoline coming from Texas fields.  There can be a higher price for exports.  But Texas can mandate a price range for Texas consumption, with the price going up after the needs of Texans are met.

So why is Gina Hinojosa not calling out Governor Abbott on the issue?  It is either ignorance, or she is bought by the oil and gas industry.  This is a very winning issue, and Gina is dead silent.  Why?

 

A VERY SLOW AND SCARY RECOVERY FROM MY SHUNT VALVE FAILURE

Walking around the house gives me the sensation of vertigo.  The ventricle over drained and leaves the brain without the proper cushioning.  It is estimated it will be the 28th before the ventricle recovers.  Then a week later I go back to my brain surgeon for a new CT Scan, to see if the subdural hematomas are decreasing in size.  It is simple, the full ventricle puts pressure on the subdural hematoma. 

This is the scary part and it is important people understand it is really no one's fault the proper care does not exist in the LRGV.  But the VA Harlingen can insure better care no ER doctor can ever provide, no matter how good they are.

Key to my care is coordination between the VA Harlingen and my brain surgeon.  I am going to have to do a second congressional complaint on the issue.  The VA's position is "we do not have anyone trained to care for the veteran so local services will not be provided.  The VA Harlingen is the only entity which can assure me proper care.

It is important everyone understand there are so few people with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus an ER doctor can go their entire career never seeing NPH.  For sure they can go their entire life never seeing a failure in the valve.

Once you reach the point of subdural hematomas caused by a failure in the shunt valve, you are approaching stroke conditions.  The radiologist did find evidence of ischemia.  

The subdural hematoma by itself is a basis for an emergency referral to my brain surgeon.  But the actual data makes it easier to assess the patient.  Over drainage by itself is a basis for an emergency referral, but this is where local care is not available.

The radiology tech did a perfect lateral headshot as I requested.  But no one on staff knew how to read it.  I am being objective when I say it may have been the first lateral headshot the radiologist on duty had ever seen with a brain shunt.  There never would have ever been cause to train them into how to read the valve.

When I looked at it I estimated the valve was at 60, when it should have been at 90.

You have to look at it like a clock.  The setting is where you see the black notch.

If you view it as a clock, just shy of 6 o'clock, the setting is 90. That is where it should have been.  In fact it was between 4-5 o'clock, which is a setting of 60.  This meant I was overtraining.

The emergency referral to my brain surgeon would be the valve changed from 90 to 60, with evidence of subdural hematoma and ischemia.  With this my brain surgeon would have concurred in my emergency transfer to San Antonio.  

The repair requires use of a very expensive specialized ultrasound which ER's do not have, and no local surgeon would have.  It is very specific to the Codman shunt.

The potential malpractice issue is clear to me.  An ER doctor cannot diagnose a change in the value setting based on the patient's representation of the proper setting.  The VA can have this verified in my medical records, thereby making it possible for their radiologist to make the finding. 

So even if there are no subdural hematomas visible in the CT scan, the finding of  the valve setting failing becomes a basis to send the patient to the brain surgeon for an emergency correction before subdural hematomas develop.

This can only happen under the care of the VA.  I will try an meet with the Chief Medical officer to go over this, before I ask for Congressman Gonzalez to help.  

 

RECOVERING FROM EMEGENCY PROCEDURE TO CONTROL TWO SUBDURAL HEMATOMAS

This will cost Mayor John Cowen and City Attorney Will Treviño

Some history: I have a brain shunt to drain cerebral fluid from the ventricle. It was placed 7 years ago last April.

This is the second time it has failed.  My regular readers will remember I had to go to San Antonio last December for an adjustment to the internal valve.  It is not a big deal.  They use a form of ultrasound.

In December the valve sua sponte changed from 70, to 40.  This means the ventricle started to empty, which can cause a stroke.  My care was delayed because adult probation in Cameron County refused to change the date of an appointment. I am still working on getting that suit done.

This time for months problems got worse and worse until the point I could not function.  If you are not protected, judges have zero empathy for sick parties.  While in court with judge Terrell, he saw me dehydrating and told the lawyers to find water for me.  It is chronic.  It is so bad, on Wednesday and then Thursday it took 4 nurses to draw blood using an ultrasound to locate a vein.  Even then it was very difficult. 

The symptoms reached a critical level, and I went to Valley Regional ER.  The ER doctor gets an A+.  He may have saved my life by insisting I get to my brain surgeon in San Antonio. There were a variety of factors to include a CT scan showing two subdural hematoma.  There was also evidence of ischemic activity.  

This is where the problem develops. It is called Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus.  Key "Normal Pressure."  I was diagnosed in 1984.  At the time the DFW area had only 3 MRI's.  I had what today would be called a TIA.  The two neurosurgeons assigned to me could not agree on what they saw in the CT Scan.  I was sent for an MRI which did not show much more.  I eventually saw the head of neurosurgery at the VA Dallas, and he said there were so few MRI pictures of the brain it was best to just monitor it.

It does not manifest itself as pressure in any normal sense.  This is why doctors dismiss the finding.  The condition is so rare, few doctors have any experience with it.  The ER doctor in Brownsville saw I had the three W's.  It is a way of diagnosing NPH.  But then the CT scan showed the hematomas.  The mere presence of hematoma is enough for emergency care.

Even when I got to San Antonio, the ER doctor did not want to verify the CT finding of hematoma.  The on-call brain surgeon ordered the CT and found the hematomas.  

Another problem is, radiologists are not trained to read the lateral head scan which shows the value.  I can teach anyone in under a minute.  The radiologist does not even know they are to compare the official setting to the setting seen in the x-ray.  Again, this is so rare, I am willing to bet most ER doctors never see NPH or a failure in the valve. After the lateral head shot was done in Brownsville, they allowed me to see it.  The tech got it right the very first time.  It was picture perfect.  But I was the only one able to read it.  It showed a setting of 60, when it should have been at 90.  This meant again the valve was draining too much cerebral fluid, shrinking the ventricle.

THIS FINDING EXPLAINED THE SUBDURAL HEMATOMA

The ventricle this time shrunk so much that it pulled away from the skull.  This in turn caused the two subdural hematomas.  With there being evidence of some ischemia, I could have gone into a full-fledged stroke.  

THE TREATMENT WAS NOT COMPLEX

The treatment meant putting pressure on both subdural hematoma.  The surgeon changed the value setting from 60 to 150.  This means in about two weeks the ventricle will fill enough to allow it to put pressure on the hematomas.  The increased pressure will do two things.  It will prevent the hematoma's from getting bigger, and then through compression drain them. If they were larger, they would drain them through the skull.

This 150 setting is so intense I am to expect intense headaches.  But this is the best way to drain the hematomas through intense pressure.  In three weeks if the CT scan shows improvement, then they will reduce the pressure setting from 150, to maybe 130. 

MY REALITY

Not because of any individual reason related to Brownsville, there is no healthcare related to my situation which is available in Brownsville.  There are so few of us, I can imagine ER doctors going their entire career and never treating anyone with NPH, or post-surgical issues. 

Once you have a shunt, you have to have access to your surgeon.  My surgeon relies on local care to inform them of a problem.  This is not working.  I know I need to be in San Antonio, or Long Island.  As to the latter I am holding on two rental properties on Long Island so I can be close to a brain surgeon at the VA. A two-bedroom one bath duplex is $2750 a month.  I can afford the rent.  Once I am done with this lawsuit, I am gone.  Believe or not a mortgage on a house my size is about $6500 a month. One home because of its location on the North Shore of LI, has a mortgage of $12,000.  It is the same size as my home. 

SO, THE SCUMBAG JUDGE IN THE CITY CASE

He is very mad that I have doctor appointments.  In anticipation of yesterday's hearing, I cancelled two appointments.  They were important but not more important than appearing in court.  I am more than willing to reschedule appointments.  In fact, the one which only addresses how I am doing on a medicine which helps with my hypothalamic dysfunction, the nurse called me and asked the same questions the doctor would ask.  I am doing great on the medication.  So, I was rescheduled to November.

A side note, the NPH caused the damage to the hypothalamus.  40 plus years of doctors not knowing what to do resulted in significant damage to my hypothalamus. 

The VA based on my symptoms recommended I go to the ER.  The VA has no ER treatment.  Even if your doctor refers you for a CT scan, if it is an emergency you are sent to the hospital.  

So, I went to Valley Regional.  The ER doctor is the best (tied) ER doctor I have seen in Brownsville in nearly 21 years.  He took the cautious side and may have saved my life.  By all accounts when there are two subdural hematomas visible in a CT Scan, you need emergency care from your brain surgeon.

I filed the medical records to include the CT Scan and referral for emergency care in San Antonio.  I asked for a continuance.  You do not play games with subdural hematomas.

The judge through his actions actually denied the request for a continuance, and without notice and opportunity to respond just started in anger to rule on motions.

The order is so bizarre he states I complained he had not rule on the city's plea to the jurisdiction. He then granted the city's plea to the jurisdiction.  I have a mandamus and a federal TRO pending on judge Mark Woerner refusing to rule on my Plea to the Jurisdiction.

He then went on to deny the existence of the order he signed barring zoom hearings.  He called my claims to be fictitious. 

JOHN COWEN AND WILL TREVINO ARE PRICKS

I am as confident as the day is long, the Texas Supreme Court will void Judge Woerner's order which in effect denied a continuance based on a medical emergency.  The emergency was justified based on the emergency treatment I received.  I have the record.

Also based on everything I have learned the state will sanction Omar Ochoa for claiming code enforcement is discretionary.   Heather Scott counsel for the city has sealed Omar Ochoa's fate.

We are talking about the city enforcing the code, the same code against Texas Lone Star which the state of Texas sanctioned to the tune of $11,250.00.  This is all the city had to agree to avoid what has to be at this point well over $50,000 in attorney's fees. 

Compliance with the code is not discretionary. but John Cowen is a vindictive prick and will damage the reputation of Brownsville to avoid having to enforce the code.   If it were discretionary the state could not have sanctioned Texas Lone Star to the tune of $11,250.00.

This is a major win for Brownsville.  It is located on the North Side of Boca Chica between 4 Corners and Billy Mitchel.  It seems to be poised to serve SpaceX, the Port and the airport.

I do not understand how Brownsville cannot seem to get Breeze to extend service between San Antonio and Brownsville.  Breeze can use Brownsville as a connection between San Antonio and Orlando.  It can serve the medical tourism between the LRGV and San Antonio.

There is also Jet Blue which can connect Brownsville to San Antonio and Monterey. Flights between Brownsville and Monterey will connect Brownsville to most of Mexico.  Then going north, San Antonio will connect Brownsville to all the connections from San Antonio to the rest of the US.

FORMER JUDGE ROBERT GARZA NEEDS TO BE REMOVED AS A VISTING JUDGE.  HE IS AN ALL TOO WILLING PLAYER WITH CITY ATTORNEY WILL TREVINO STRATEGY TO MANIPULATE JUSTICE 

 

This is fact, Will Trevino in the bar cases objected to Judge Garza being the judge.   Now Will Trevino wants Garza as the judge in my case against the city and Omar Ochoa. Yes the same city and Omar Ochoa.  I filed a proper objection of right and Robert Garza is refusing to stand down, as he did in the bar cases.  He will now face a recusal. 

I am filing a motion to recuse him based on Jackson Walkers third attempt to avoid the ADA order of protection in my favor.  Former Chief Justice Nathan Hecht is now a partner at Jackson Walker which affords Jackson Walker and all its clients all the protection they need.

Anyone who thinks I will not add Nathan Hecht to the now near ready federal lawsuit, is sadly mistaken.

Garza and I shared the same chiropractor.  I stopped my treatment one day when I heard him through the door asking someone if they knew who I was.  At the time, and not for long he is the judge in the Sorola case. 

There is more in the AM.  But I am going back to the Texas Supreme Court one last time, and then to the federal court of appeals to stop these people.

This is not complex.  The city, FTL and Texas Lone Star are parties to the federal appeal. They have nothing but contempt for the federal bench.  

Their remedy is simple. When I file my appellate brief, they respond by challenging the jurisdiction of the court.  If the court of appeals agrees with them it proceeds in state court.  This is basic, unless you believe the Texas Supreme Court will obstruct justice for you, so you ask the Texas Supreme Court to protect you from the federal court. 

Robert Garza's action towards me is file and explains his criminal DWI history and why he was forced from the bench into becoming a visiting judge. He is too stupid to understand Chris Mugica's attempt yesterday for the third time to bypass the ADA order, was really an attempt to throw Judge Garza under the bus.
