It is rare I truly vote for someone because they are truly good for the people. Even though Erin did not have an opponent, I still voted for her, because she is the best for the job.
I also voted for Vicente Gonzalez because he gets the job done. I do not like his ties to oil and gas, and I was not happy with his commercials distancing himself from transgender rights, but he was pinned into the corner and had no choice.
Also, the transgender movement has been unwilling to compromise, and it has cost them. This issue is so complex. It is not black and white. And I can tell you for sure, within the transgender movement, they are fighting like cats and dogs.
When you demand society just change to accept you immediately, you will make enemies because you are not leaving room for discussion. If you are not willing to even consider the other side's concerns, you cannot win.
I am not going to accuse a parent of being ignorant because they do not want their daughter to share a bathroom with someone identified at birth as male. It is the same with the book bans. I oppose them 100%, but I support 100% parents being allowed to tell the schools their children are not allowed to read certain book. Compromise could have done a lot for both of these issues.
So much anger and disinformation could have been avoided had the movement pushed for unisex bathrooms in schools and public places, for those who are comfortable with the changes. Three sets of bathrooms in the schools would have been better than the anger we now have. The anger is not helping the transgender children and adults.
I do not even like the term transgender because I do not believe in gender. It is merely a word which has evolved into a social construct without consideration for the real spectrum embedded in humans. People should be allowed to be themselves without explanation. They should not need a label to justify their existence.
A step at a time, and in time, the issue would have been resolved through social change in favor transgender people.

If Erin takes my suggestion, she will become the biggest rising star in Texas politics with solid support from Democrats and Republicans.
TEXAS DOES NOT HAVE A PUBLIC REFERENDUM RIGHT
All we can do in Texas is vote to approve the constitutional amendments as passed in the legislature. Other states allow the people to pass a referendum by petition.
STATES WHICH VOTED FOR TRUMP, BUT SINCE 2022 HAVE VOTED TO PRESERVE THE RIGHT TO AN ABORTION UP TO 12 WEEKS OR LONGER (VIABILITY), AND TO PROTECT THE MOTHER
Kansas, Kentucky, Montana, Ohio, Arizona, Missouri, Nebraska (12 weeks), Nevada.
It is time to stop complaining and take action. 8 states which voted for Trump, when given the choice, voted to protect reproductive rights.
NOW IS THE TIME FOR ERIN TO USE HER SMARTS TO GET REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS TO SPONSOR A CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT FOR THE PEOPLE TO USE A PETITION TO PUT CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS ON THE BALLOT
I can hear it now, "they will use it to ban gay marriage." No, they already did that, and the Supreme Court found it unconstitutional.
The vote for Trump was a rejection of the dysfunctional Democrats. People truly want something new. Biden was not a good president. He pushed Ukraine into the war with Russia. He rejected the well-established doctrine of Finlandization and threw Ukraine under the bus.
Harris went to Latin America and ignored the well-establish doctrine of Tio Samismo [it is an extension of the big stick policy] and insulted Latin American. Biden joined the fray. by insulting El Salvador which actually now has immigrants returning from the US to economic prosperity in El Salvador.
The US policy of the drug war is a complete failure. But Biden continued it. The democratically elected president of El Salvador took the country from what was called the murder capital of the world [ not sure it is true] to one of the safest countries in Latin America. Biden believes El Salvador is too hard on drug cartels. You know what, it was none of Biden's dam business.
Biden's first big mistake was continuing Trump's outdated Cuban policy. Most of Latin American stands with Cuba, and Biden abandoning the open policy established under Obama, really hurt him.
SO, ERIN GET TO IT, AND PUT ON THE AGENDA A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDED TO ALLOW FOR A PUBLIC REFERENDUM BY PETITION
Our election was about meaningful change. We win by empowering the people. If Trump does not pivot to the center, he could find himself fighting needless battles. We have not lost people. We just need to embrace the new reality and work it to the advantage of the people.
