AS OF THIS MOMENT IT IS A ZERO-SUM GAME IN THE RACE FOR THE HOUSE

There is little doubt the Republicans will win control of the House.  But here is the kicker, the Democrats won 7 seats held by the Republicans, and the Republicans won 7 seats held by the Democrats.

There are still 8 uncalled races.  When you consider 14 seats changed Parties, and 8 remain uncalled, you have 22 House Members who know in 2 years, they can be out of a job, if they get into the divisive battles.

If you know you only won by a hair, why would you throw caution to the wind, and vote yes on any controversial issue?

In the Senate, Texas US Senator John Cornyn is showing his power by opposing Matt Gaetz for AG, as of now.  He is pushing the House to release the Ethics Report on Gaetz. It may include evidence of sex trafficking. John Cornyn is not at all happy that fellow Texas Senator Ted Cruz voted for Thune to be the Senate Majority leader.  

This is why Trump wants to restore his constitutional right to recess appointments. 

Trump may have the Senate and House, but he also may not have the votes.
