LEGISLATURE TO END MAY ELECTIONS, EXCEPT FOR RUNOFFS OR SPECIAL ELECTIONS
The data shows it is not cost effective. Also it allows for bond issues when there is low voter turnout. This is not right. Since the taxpayers are responsible for the bonds, or other taxes May elections allow for a very small number of voters to hold the rest of the taxpayers responsible. Now of course if people would simply vote this would not be an issue.
MAKING MATTERS WORSE FOR THIS ELECTION IS THE RAIN
It is sad how low voter turnout will be because it is May and also the rain.
I voted no on the venue because it came too fast, and with no transparency. I do not like the idea that developers from Austin are funding the get out the vote for the Venue. Other than politicians there appears to be no local support for the Venue.
The total lack of transparency should be a red flag for everyone.
I thought the PR firm asking grandma's to vote for it was the most laughable moment, but Montoya accusing others in social media of being influenced by money was truly the most laughable moment in this campaign.
I blame the people. Given McHale's history what could possibly make anyone to go to him for help with anything?
At least with Montoya there is a proven track record of him taking money before or after the election. His voice is never based on the best interests of the people. It is always based on the best interest of his wallet. As I have said before the news media is heavily influenced by advertising dollars. But Montoya takes it as a badge of honor.
If you consider the voice of Montoya you are admitting you are not concerned with the best interest of the people. With Montoya you know he is bought and paid for, so if you consider his voice you get what you deserve.
Now pay attention, Montoya is not a PAC. He does not have to report payments to anyone. There is no forcing him to prove he is paying income taxes, or even local taxes on his business. Anyone with a financial interest in the Venue can pay him all they want and it never gets reported.
It is all a joke.
For the At Large position I voted for Alejandro Garcia. He came out against the venue. Not a popular position with the local politicos.
Nurith Galonsky and Roy De Los Santos were not even an option. There are too many problems in the city of Brownsville both of these candidates have ignored.
My neighborhood has turned into an ugly place. There are too many 18-wheelers, RV campers, boats, and even one home is is now officially a junk yard. There are two homes now acting as an automotive repair shop. Linda Macia's is doing nothing to fix anything. On my street there is a massive pothole for over 2 years. You have to avoid it to protect your car.
For everything Jessica Tetreau was not, our neighborhood was nice. It is now a dump. When I am done with my healthcare it will be time to move for sure. If I stay in Brownsville, I have the lot already picked out. I have the design of the new house already bought and ready to be used by the builder.
Healthcare is a major issue for me. I can buy a lot small home in far Eastern Long Island near my brother. Healthcare is the key issue.
Other than one doctor I do not know of any doctor I would trust in the LRGV.
Upon learning how antibiotic resistance works, I suspended my care until the VA agreed to the culture of my ear infection. There is no surprise to me I am antibiotic resistant for both of the antibiotics being infused. They actually made things worse. The specialist failed to see it in the labs. But I give him credit for ordering the ear culture which showed neither antibiotic I was on was actually working.
Everything here is a nightmare. It is not my job to be the expert. For 9 weeks the labs showed I have been resistant to the antibiotics being used.
It is not even just that, nothing works here, and I mean nothing. Today I had to explain to my pool tech it was time to move back to chlorine pool tabs. The liquid chlorine was no longer working at full strength.
