IF YOU ARE ANTI DEI, YOU ARE ANTI MAXIMUM PROFITS.
A friend inspired this post. So, I am looking at buying your business. I need to know as a policy you have sought to hire the best of the best, otherwise your business could prove to be a burden.
If you have an all-white male business I know for sure as a matter of policy, you do not hire only the best.
The problem was you only got hired if recommended by a supervisor who was a relative and friend of the family. They were all white men, so they only recommended white men.
The process denied non-nepos getting hired. I was determined to get hired on merit, but for 6 months could not even get an interview. My ex-father recommended me, and the next day I was hired. I was not a victim of traditional discrimination. I was a victim of a hiring model which did not hire based on merit. Once hired I moved up so fast, I could not believe it. I did not have daddy protecting me as a nepo-hire. I was a whiz at computers, for the time, and remade the inventory control system with actual computer engineers.
What DEI does is insure you have a better pool of candidates to choose from so you can hire only the best. A good DEI program reaches out to all groups and not just the traditional HR options.
When you hire only the best, you will make more money.
If I am buying your business and you only have white men working for you, I will question whether you actually hired the best or just from the traditional pool of candidates.
Because if you have not hired from the best, then I will have to fire and rehire too many people to make your business a profitable company.
