IT IS A HARD NO ON THE BISD BOND ISSUE, FOR GOOD CAUSE

It began with the Texas Board of Education removing a lot about Thomas Jefferson from our history books.  It is now firing teachers for honest political discourse.  It is about forcing religion on our children.

NO - HELL NO TO FUNDING A MAGA EDUCATION

Who in their right mind seeks to fund such a system.  Far too many teachers are sitting quiet rather than defend the right to a complete education.  I am tired of good books being removed from the school libraries.  Literature is the most important subject in our schools.  Yes, you heard that right.  It is in the compare and contrast essays we begin to build the foundation of critical thinking. 

That basic skill set eventually leads to cures for cancer.  It leads to amazing advances in science.  It all begins with a good literature instructor who promoted critical thinking through simple compare and contrast essays. 

Schools are no longer safe havens for our minority children.  

BISD has many great programs.  But they continue to fail our special needs children.  

But now, if I had a child they would be in a private school receiving a classical education with no interference from Politicos.  I am now a big advocate of home schooling.  No child should ever be exposed to education Texas style.

So, until we restore true teaching to Texas classrooms, I say not one additional penny to fund a system doing everything possible to destroy the foundation of education.

Again, that is a hard no on the BISD Bonds.  It is also a hard yes on home schooling, where children can be exposed to all the great literature and truth in history.
