Erin is into herself for securing $1 million dollars from the state for the zoo. It will help the zoo. She plays this game because no one will call her out.
If Erin cared about the zoo as she claims, why did she not oppose the $16 million the COB paid BISD for Cummings. All Erin did is get the state to pay $1 million dollars towards the $16 million for Cummings.
We all remember the scam, and John Cowen's lies. We need the space for the great ape display. Yes, space which will not come into play for 7 years, assuming the city can raise the money for the development.
With one side of his mouth John Cowen tells us we need to improve the habitat for the great apes. and then from the other, after paying $16 million for Cummings, we have to rent Cummings back to BISD for 5 years. So where is the improvement for the great ape habitat, the same place as the bridge to nowhere. This time it cost us $16 million.
Shame on you Erin for making it appear you are helping. Erin certainly has to know what the $16 million the COB paid BISD could have done for the great ape habitat. We are past time for Gladys Porter Zoo losing it credentials to house a great ape habitat. Just check out the great ape habitat in San Antonio. You will cry for the abuse of the great apes at Gladys Porter.
How we abuse our zoo animals is a reflection on all of Brownsville. The children do not know better about the abuse, but our elected officials certainly know about the dismal conditions in the great ape habitat.
