BEST INSURANCE POLICY I EVER BOUGHT
After spending easily over a thousand dollars over 15 years to repair the water line from the city meter to my house, it was time for insurance. I paid $42.00 for the year. Today's bill was easily over $500.00. I hope to see it once Roto-Router submits the bill. AWS assigned the case to Roto-Rooter, and they came immediately because of the leak. The repair was approved before Roto-Rooter arrived at my home.
My lawsuit against the city will be amended to include this mess. The plumbing company which did the original work to replace all of my copper pipes with flexible PVC did not use copper for the outside connections. The PVC was damaged by the sun and broke. This is a violation of the code. Although the city did issue multiple code violations after the project was complete, they did not issue a code violation for the PVC extending outside the house.
It is clear the city inspectors are clueless as to the code. Why are they not trained? The other two spickets need repair, but they are not an emergency. The low-cost repair for one is $350.00 in labor. The parts are under $20.00. I think I can find a DYI video for that one.
In the last year I have spent over $1000 for plumbing repairs. The big bill was the clogged line where my line enters the city line. For $9 a month I can have complete insurance coverage for all the plumbing problems. For me it is worth the $9 a month.
I like the fact they use Roto-Rooter. They were already my company of choice.
