PAY ATTENTION SAENZ: IT IS AS IF THE SUPREME COURT READ MY OPINION PIECE IN THE HERALD BEFORE ISSUING ITS ORDER IN THE DEPORTATION CASE

This morning in an OPED piece the HERALD published, I comment on the futility of expecting Trump to honor an order after the fact. I noted how Trump hung himself in the Venezuelan deportation case.

"But President Donald Trump gave the Supreme Court all of the evidence it needed to prove futility.

President Trump himself said he has no authority to order El Salvador to return deportees. The Supreme Court cares more about its orders being honored than the impact of the policy on the deportees."

It is as if before the Supreme Court issued its opinion on the issue, it read my OPED piece from this morning.

This afternoon the Court noted that they had to stop the deportations because it would be futile to expect Trump to get the deportees back after the fact.

"The court noted that the Trump administration has represented that it is “unable to provide for the return of an individual deported in error to a prison in El Salvador.”"

This afternoon's decision was not about the merits of the case, but that the Supreme Court expects its orders to be honored. Trump is now on notice.

Editor's note: When referring to the Supreme Court, you use a capital C, and never a small c.
